The General Staff Building is an outstanding architectural monument in the style of Russian Classicism. In the Eastern Wing of the building, where civilian ministries of the Russian Empire were housed, both permanent and temporary exhibitions of the Hermitage are placed. Nowadays even the interior of General Staff building can be named contemporary art masterwork You will see numerous canvasses by Van Gogh, Matisse, Gauguin, Picasso, Kandinsky.
