The General Staff Building is an outstanding architectural monument in the style of Russian Classicism. In the Eastern Wing of the building, where civilian ministries of the Russian Empire were housed, both permanent and temporary exhibitions of the Hermitage are placed. 1. Get to the Admiralteyskaya metro station (Purple Line).
2.Go to Palace Square (cross the Nevsky Prospect — main Avenue)
3. Find the Alexander Column in the center of the Palace Square (see how it looks). The guide will wait for you near this monument. Please choose the side of the column which faces the Winter Palace.
